i was driving in the high way and suddenly a big piece of rock hit my car's hood and bumper.now the hood is mass up.will the insurance cover it without me paying anything?i have american family.

Get an estimate from a body shop on the cost of repairing the damage. If the cost is less than your insurance deductible, pay it yourself and do not file a claim.
Even if the cost is about twice your deductible, you might consider not filing a claim because it could cause your rates to increase. Use your insurance for major claims and forget the small stuff. |

If you have Full Coverage insurance, you will also need to pay the deducible, you can get the insurance to cover the damage. Most deductibles are $500 or more so this amount will come out of your pocket. |

American family rules are: If the rock hits your car before it hits the ground, it will be covered under your comprehensive coverage (best). If the rock hits the ground and then hits your car, it will be covered under your collision insurance. Deductibles, if any, will apply in both cases. Collision claims may be surcharged, comprehensive claims are not and will not be surcharged |
