Would I get a ticket?

Ok... I was driving and a police officer pulled me over. He asked for my driver license and I couldn't find my driver license so I think I forgot it at home. I told him that and he asked me if I know the driver license numbers by heart. I told him, I can get it by calling my brother. He said it's ok and he asked me for my name to put it down to his note.Then he asked me if my friend who seat next to me has a driver license and I said he does have it, but he didn't ask my friend to show the driver license tho. Finally, he told me that I drove all over the place and my front lights were not on and he switch the light on for me while he telling. And that's it! He just asked me for my name that's all. But I am still worried. Will I get a ticket? or Will I get a ticket through mail? He didn't said that I got a ticket. :(

Absolutely NOT... you gave him ONLY your name and do you know how many Jone's there are? so quit worrying. Besides, even if you got a ticket, all you have to do is show the judge your driver's license (assuming you have a valid driver's license) when you go to court and most likely the case will be dropped.

If you were going to get a ticket, the Officer would've given it to you before he let you go.

I highly recommend that you make sure that you've got your license with you and pay attention to the road. That seems to be a wonderful way to avoid being pulled over in the first place. : )

from your explaination, you are not getting a ticket. dont worry about it. it happened to me before, its called a warning. sounds like he was just trying to help you rather than fine you.

I doubt you get a ticket. He would have given you a copy of it right there. You would've gotten a ticket in the mail if you didn't pay a toll or ran a red light, etc. You probably just a warning cause all he wanted you to do is put on your lights.

For future reference: if you fail to show your license they can easily look you up in the system to show that you at least have a license or outstanding tickets as if they had it and... if you get a ticket b/c of a broken taillight, expire plates, or something wrong with your car in most state all you have to do is show prove that it been fix and they'll drop the ticket and just pay a dismissal fee.

If he didn't give you a ticket he could see that he'd scared the cr4p out of you and that you didn't need a ticket. Don't go out driving without your: keys (including to the house); driver's license; insurance card; and cell phone. If you leave without one of these you can end up with an awful evening.

No, you won't get a ticket or anything because he doesn't have your address, license number, or anything. It was something pretty minor and he was being nice. Though if he wanted to, he could've given you a ticket so be more careful in the future.
