I totalled my pickup which I purchased used in September 08. The loan included the extended warranty, which I will no longer be in the use of... How do I get the unused portion back?

You need to contact the dealer you bought the vehicle from and they should have you fill out a cancellation request for and they will get with the wrrnty company and get you a refund in about 30 days.

You say "I totaled my pickup" so I assume you are at fault. Your collision will send fair market value, less your deductible amount to the lender. Any balance will be your responsibility, unless you also have Gap insurance that will pay any amount you are upside down.

Extended warranty cancellation will need to be done at the dealer, the lender has no idea what part of what they loaned you was used for what. So contact the dealer and ask it be canceled and the excess refunded to you.

For some folks the policies arent worth the money but for some people it is. I would have been really in a hard situation without it a couple times with my car when I didnt have the extra money to pay outright. I was really relieved I had the extended warranty.
