Well, it varies from state to state. Some states/companies have an age where the rates go down, and some have a "years driving" where the rates go down. You have to call your agent and ask how it works in your state.
Also, the rate can only be compared to the rate for the same year - ie, the 20 year old driver in 2006 pays more than a 30 year old driver, in 2006, with the same coverage and same car.
In reality, I haven't seen my rates go down as I've gotten older, not significantly. This is because 1. lawsuit judgements keep going up and 2. there are more uninsured motorists on the road, both of which drive up EVERYONE'S rates, 3. my cars have gotten newer, and more valuable, thus higher to insure and 4. I've increased my coverage limits. |

You need to call your insurance company and request a rate change...if they won't do it, change companies!!! |

Some insurance companies go by your credit rating too. So if you don't have good credit you might have to pay more than expected. So if I were you I would question them about it and if they can't give the correct answers I would change insurance companies!! |

Was that ticket five years ago, or was it last week? You can ask your insurance company for a review of your rates, but don't expect an instant response. You can always go shopping for a new insurance company. |

When that ticket works its way off your license, then ask your insurance company to lower your rate. |
