plate from our van on, cause i was gonna go to the dmv. a little while later, a parking official came and put a boot on my car. it was impounded. she said that they might revoke the van's registration too. what will happen now?

i wasn't driving it at the time. it was parked on the road, at my house.

Whenever you have an expired plate, or registration you CANNOT park it in the front of your house if it is on public property. You can only have it on your own private driveway, or on a private road, you cannot have it anywhere that belongs to the city, municipality, town or government. |

It depends, did they see you actually driving it. This may be dis-honest, but I'd tell'em, that you reported the van stolen weeks ago, and thanks for finding it. This might make them feel dumb enough to not revoke the registration. |

The road is a public place. When parked the vehicle must be insured and legal to be on the road. You have commited offences and no doubt will be dealt with. These are 'absolute' offences against which, you cannot appeal. |
