I will be 17 and would like to start driving lesson, I'll pay for them but they dont want me to start I dont really understand why so far the reasons why they dont want me to start are;
i have PTSD and depression and they think i will try and kill myself while driving
my medication (15mg mirtazapine which i can drive if not affected Im not affected after 12 hours and I take it at night) I was in hospital because of it for 7 months and the Dr has recommended I dont start yet but im much better now
they didnt start driving till they were 18
they want me to start but at 18 as they think its too soon, im determined to start as Ive been waiting for years! is there anyway they can stop me from getting driving lessons (im from the UK btw) also how do i go about getting driving lessons?

I understand that driving your own self is a great accomplishment.
But, you might won't to do some checking around into your vehicle insurance and coverages that protain to your medication taking for your condition. You may not be able to get coverage for you to even start driving a car, even if you did take drivers training.
As far as looking for a place that teaches drivers training....ask if your high school teaches it or go to the local drivers testing center and ask for a list of places they recommend. |

If you are under 18, your parents can stop you from doing anything they want to. |

You are a minor, under age 18, and they can keep you from getting your learners license to start lessons. Add to that the fact your own doctor has recommended you not start yet. Wait until you are 18. |
