i took out my whole sound system that i paid around 1500 for. i didnt want them to total the car and not let me take my stuff out. now there is no radio, do i need to have a radio before the estimate the damage on the car?

Yes - it needs to have a radio. Not necessarily an expensive one, but if your car is totalled, the value will be decreased by not only the value of a radio, but the cost to have a body shop put one in. Much cheaper to buy a cheap radio and slap it in yourself. |

Well even if they total the car and you left the equipment in, you should still be able to take it out. I don't imagine there will be a problem with having no radio, just mention to the appraiser that you had after market stereo equipment that you removed and it shouldn't be a problem. |
