i just got my 125 motorbike stolen?

i had it locked up and everything, it was chained to a railing outside my house with a disc lock and steering lock on it, they broke through the chain and i assume put it in a van. i have called the police and given a statement and everything, but they also told me to ring my insurance company, i only have 3rd party, is there ANY point ringing them up?

i paid 1 lump sum for the insurance, it's just for a year so i don't have to pay them any more anyway

You say you only have third party insurance. Check your policy and see if you are covered third party fire and theft as most people are, if you are you will be covered, if not I am afraid you have lost your bike. |

You have to tell them it was stolen so that the cover is halted and then you not pay them anything maybe get a refund on remaining cover. |

That's the risk you take if you only have third party insurance. I pay a higher premium to have comprehensive. Presumably you paid less for third party only.
You may be able to get back a proportion of the remaining months insurance cost but thats all. |

No, probably not. If you carried only liability (3rd party), there's no theft coverage on the bike--but you will be on record with the police in case it's recovered. |

Yes, there is a point in ringing them.
That is to cancel the insurance and possibly get a refund from them.
You need to inform them that you are no longer in posession of the vehicle anyway. |
