16 and got my first speeding ticket..?

i was going 43 in a 25, i thought it was a 35 and it was a back road. i had only went on it once. I live in Kentucky
I have had my license for about 4 months and i haven't gotten in any trouble until now..i haven't gotten a warning or anything..i was just wondering how much trouble i was going to get in..my parents just laughed at me and said "well you are the one that's paying it" and i have a job and that's not really a problem..but i was wondering how i can keep my insurance from going up..should i pay the fine or go to court and try to get it off my record? my father is friends with the judge ( he worked at the prison for about 25 years) and am i gonna have my license taken away?? that's what scares me the most..

You won't lose your license. In most cases like yours I've heard of, people don't get any points and will have to write an essay or do community service and pay a fine. Your insurance may go up a bit, but not too much.
So don't fret. Just smile. You had to get your first one sometime. |
