You need to check with your State's Attorney General. There is a process you can file to get your rights re-instated. It is worth a shot because you lost more than your second amendment rights when you got nailed with the felony. You can't hold most government jobs, you can't hold elective office, You can't qualify for most government loans and give aways. Take a shot at it, the worst that can happen is they will say NO; but you will be no worse off. A yes could change your life. |

No, covicted felons are not allowed to own guns. The only way is a restoration of your rights through a pardon from a governor, or the President. |

Yes you can the best way is talk to an attorney it cost money i think its around five hundred dollars but they know how to summit the proper forms to a judge and get your rights back the crime you was charged for you should have no problems as far as the felony goes it stays on your record you can get it sealed from the public but it will always be there for anybody in law enforcement to see or any government officials or any bank which means forget about getting a government job or becoming a police officer or working at a bank you screwed that up for life that's part of the rights you will never get back but you can get you voting right back and your gun right back good thing you only got one felony and by the way you cant go into the military either yes you can get a government loan i got one. some people on here want to know why you want a gun that's a stupid question the answer is you have every right to protect you and your family i dint suggest you take it out of your home unless you are hunting or target prat icing as far as the rest of you giving your arrogant opinion to somebody you dint know is messed up he made a mistake you guys think that he should pay for it the rest of his life he paid his debt so quit kicking him and let him up so he can hold his head up and walk proud hes only human and who cares if he misspiilled i did that on purpose some of you cant spell either thats why you use spell check am i right |

You will not be able to purchase or be in possession of any firearm, ever, unless you receive a pardon for your felony. |

Unfortunately no you can never own a gun, I was charged with a felony (domestic violence) for defending myself against an abusive boyfriend And now I can never own one myself. Not like I want to, but now that I can't I want one.
It's ridiculous how assinine the laws are these days. |

Obvoiusly if you are riding in stolen cars you would be able to find a gun on the streets and buy it, but I would sure hope you couldn't buy one in an actual gun store and have it registered to yourself. I agree with all others, go back to school and learn how to speak correctly!
P.S. Do you need the gun to do another carjacking? |
