8 Year old Child Shoots and Kills Father and another Man .....?

How is it possible for a child who's only 8 years old to commit murder? Who taught him to shoot? Why did he have the ability to get a hold of a gun anyway?

Why would he do it? Can children this young be found insane? Why would someone this young do this unless he has suffered some form of extreme trauma or molestation? I'm not saying he was molested. I'm saying kids don't kill without a reason like this unless they've been brainwashed or traumatized ... Right?

I guess we will have to wait and see until doctors can check him out and the trial is going on.

He has been charged with 2 counts of premeditated murder.

I looked around on the net for more information on this story. I found a video on the Associated Press' website talking about this. They said that there is a possibility that the child was abused. The child planned out the murders and then did them as he planned.
The father taught the boy how to shoot the rifle while shooting prairie dogs. The father talked to the priest whether or not the boy should have been handling guns because the family was a group of avid hunters and he did not want his son to be afraid of guns.
I would say he had a pretty messed up childhood. There is no telling where he learned about planning out murders let alone doing them. Probably movies, television or video games.

It said he was abused by his father. He was probably raised in a violent atmosphere and was put in the position where he was afraid for his life time after time. It's a sad story....

His dad taught him how to shoot the gun as they were a hunting family. The gun actually belonged to the kid!! Authorities are looking into the idea that he may have been abused and this was his way of getting back at his abusers. I think they may end up letting him go on this in the end.

If somehow I was given a supernatural second chance or a time machine my plan for years has been to go back to age eight and murder my soon to be abusive step father, so when I read this story, my first thought was time traveling mind switch.

First of all, I don't think anything is wrong with an 8 year old knowing how to shoot a gun.

To the people that believe in gun control, you are part of the problem. Guns themselves are not the problem. If you take away guns from law abiding citizens, then you give criminals the upper hand.

Video games and movies can be a lot of influence to a child. Also, if he was abused, then it may have led him to do this.

I didn't know until now, thanks for sharing this sad story, I wasn't raise here, but I really think anywhere and everywhere in the world this could happen, and t.v. plays a big roll, and of course we really have to watch our children really close.

Well basicly its depending on a few things.

Number one their is nothing wrong with an 8 year old knowing how to shoot a gun. It's good to see father's teaching their children to hunt at early ages. But the smart thing to do is keep gun locks on your guns along with keeping them in a locked gun cabinet. Only let your children hold a gun when you are supervising them,

In the case that it was in self defence because his father was abusive then the child shout not be tried at all but placed in foster care.

But in the case that the kid just got ahold of a gun and shot them because he was mad, then he should be stuck in Juvie till he is old enough to go to prison.

At 8 years old most children know what it means to die and should know that shooting someone can kill them. So i'm a little mixed about this.

That's why we need to have better gun laws in america. It is ridiculous. They are not necessary. I would never own a gun or be around anyone who did (knowingly) I would never live my life in such fear where I had to own one.
