A Police Officer gave me a citation that was written wrong, can it be reduced or thrown out?

i got pulled over tonight doing a 45 in a 35. the officer approched me and said you know why you were pulled over. i said because i was speeding. he said you were doing 10 over the speed limit. i gave him my info, he wrote me up a ticket and i was on my way.
when i was reviewing the ticket i noticed that he had put that i was going 45 mph in a 35 mph, but where it says fines it says 88 dollars for going between 11-15. can i get this dropped or at least reduced?

You may get it reduced if you go to court and point out that you were going 10mph over and not 11-15. But remember, that is probably just the 'base' fine. With additional court costs, admin fees, etc that they tack on, Im bettin you are going to end up paying more.

ask the judge. there are cops that will give you the 10 mph leeway, and not pull you over...but there are cops who will get you going 3 miles over the limit. speeding is speeding...it will depend on what the judge decides. There is probably a small fine for going up to 10 mph's over the posted speed limit.

Dig in!
You are not likely to get it thrown out but almost any ticket can be reduced if you talk to the right people. The type of misinformation that can get a ticket thrown out are stuff like wrong court time, date or address. Also putting down your personal information incorrectly can be cause for dismissal.

Not in todays economy. The police are now revenue generators instead of public sevants to the people in society.

Talk to the judge or prosecutor when you arrive at court. Either way you are speeding so just pay the fine.

No, it will not be reduced. There is no mistake. The officer is making up for the standard deviation in the speed detection equipment.
