hello all, to be quite plain since i am quite tired, i have a simple question, preferably from any current police officers at the moment who have first hand experience
i been looking at becoming a police officer here in Las Vegas Nevada, but i have on question that is really irking me
what are the "statistics" or "numbers" or whatever of police officers that have to work night shifts, or late shifts (i kinda classify that as anything that starts after like 1100am (read, LATEshifts), that is basically it, and after that i still have a few questions, if you DO get the night shift, is it a regular position, or do you alternate? (like some weeks you work night shift, some weeks you work day shift, some weeks early shift, and how often do those scehdules change if at all?)
PS. dont get get on me about spelling, grammar and capitalization, im not writing a college essay
PSS. please, for the love of whatever god you believe in, dont get on me about "well this question is irrlevant since you should be willing to work any shift for the uniform" please, i didnt come here for a pep talk, i just want to know

ok, so how do you mean they work all types of shifts?
do they regularly throughout the week swing from morning to midday to night?

I know night shift can be a pain, but who ever said that sentence is right.
Uniform Police officers usually does rotating shifts which involves night shifts and day shifts. A normal rotation is usually at least 4 days. |

Police officers work three shifts. For years and years. The graveyard shift is often 12 midnight to 8am.
Some departments may work 10 or 12 hour shifts. Whatever the situation the night and EARLY morning will be covered. |

Personally I don't. I know there are good cops and bad cops out there, but the bad cops have really made the rest of them look bad as far as I am concerned.
