Sounds like you have learned a hard lesson. When there's drug activity in the house, you probably shouldn't keep things in there that you don't want seized.

In a warranted search for drugs and related paraphanalia, a stash of cash is certainly worth taking in as evidence, since, as you put it, "...i can't put money in my bank..."

Lesson learned.

you cant say you didnt know what was going on....your lucky he took the beef.........you can get your money back, maybe, but the attorney will charge you 50-75% of it......your hoidays in the tank.....better try to help the person that kept you out of jail..........

You are going to have to provide evidence of where you got the money from, otherwise it will be confiscated from you. It will be assumded that it is from the proceeds of crime.

Of interest here is why on earth you were saving money in a pot as opposed to a savings account. If you still have evidence of your debt and the fact that you were going bankrupt, you could be ok. You willnot get it back straightaway, and you could be waiting for over a year, depending on how quickly the proceedings against your boyfriend takes. That said, if the police do not charge him with anything, they will give it back immediately anyway.

EDIT: You will not get it back until a decision has been made whether to charge him or not. It sounds like it will probably be simple possession as opposed to Possession With Intent To Supply, which means that you will get the money back as there will not be an allegation that it was from the criminal activity. You will still have to wait until that decision is made though

If the house is in your name and you can prove where the money came from eg, you save Â£10.00 from your money every week,{ after all we're just talking pennies unless you had saved Â£50,000}, or a friend loaned you it, you will have to provide a name and address.
Get yourself a good lawyer and appeal against them confiscating your savings.Hope you got a receipt for the cash when they seized it.

The problem is that the money was found hidden with your pot. This makes it seem reasonable that the money could be related to the drugs. Depending on your national and local laws, the money could be considered as "drug money" and is likely to be taken. Depending on the disposition of the case, the money may be returned to you.

kiss it goodbye until the case is resolved and if found not guilty or its dropped you could get your money after a legal battle with the county prosecutor , if you state you hid it from your bankruptcy then you will be committing a federal violation put yourself in the police officer clothes. they raid your home for misuse of drugs and wow here is money that can't be accounted by pay check or bank receipts your close association to the arrestee led to believe its drug money not many use pots to save money I'm surprised they did not charge you with conspiracy

If you're applying to be made bankrupt then presumably you are unable to pay your debtors and cannot afford to go on holiday. If the police are unable to establish a connection between your money and drugs then it should be returned to you. I'm not sure if you will be expected to prove that the money was yours, but if you are then obviously you will not be able to prove that it is, as a bankrupt who doesn't have money, allegedly. I trust that when and if it is returned to you you will notify the Court of your sudden and amazing windfall who will be only too pleased to discharge some of your debts with it.

Ah! Savings from you both, so obviously only half of it was drug money. Â£345 for the bankruptcy fee and the rest was to be declared to pay off your debtors right? Oh no, I remember the balance was for plane tickets and holiday money wasn't it?
