ok i want to know i am 18 years old and i know i have to be 21 to become a police officer but is there any work i can do at all for the police like can i be 18 and work at a reception desk or a cleaner for the police station? i would really like to just be there and then i will become a cop if you can answer thanks

For sure! You should check out the explorer program or find out how to become a cadet. All you have to do the call your local police agency and they should be able to give you the details. Its free and most departments have the program. If your local department does not, check with the county or any major city nearby. In those programs, they teach you how to write reports and teach you the in's and out's of basic police work. Also you get to go on ride along's with officers. You'll enjoy it!

Many correction facilities have civilians working for them as receptionists ect. They also have an explorer program as well.

Check to see if the department in your area has a cadet corp or an explorer post. you may be able to get in that way as a volunteer

No, there is nothing you can do but wait until you turn 21 or go to college like me and get your degree in criminal justice and get paid more.
