By law they should be returned, yet what is going on in that compound is nothing short of criminal. and immoral. It is definitely baffling.You are not alone. Let us see how the government decides to handle this one.

While there is some abuse, not all the children have abuse signs and should be returned...to just label a whole group of people because of religion or way of life is dangerous....this could escalate to gays and other religions.
Of the 400+ children about 40 had broken bones....is that unusual....who knows....there is only speculation the way it was distributed by the police and reported by the news agencies..it leaves one to think that they were abused....there is no indication or report that specifies the type of break or how it may have happened...accidents happen...and kids will be kids at times.
Until there is specifics I feel the govt overstepped their boundaries and found an "excuse" to stop what they "believe" is socially wrong.

I think that when ever there is a question about the safety and well being of a child - go in there!!!!

And there are young girls, your daughter's age, who have children or are pregnant - by GROWN MEN!!!!

The compound needs to be shut down and the kids need to be given a normal childhood!!

And the shear fact that leader married a 14 year old to her uncle - GROSS and I honestly feel that anyone who harms a child should be killed!!!!!

First off it not the city of Texas..its the state. Second, I live in Texas and from what I've seen on the news there are underage girls in the compound that were pregnant and/or already had children. There was technically no abuse but there were kids there that were pregnant by adult men which is illegal. To me this is a real big embarrassment to Texas...just like George Bush is.

And by the way, you might look at other states as well because this is not the first time this has happened. Texas is just a state that was actually trying to stop it.

Not sure what I agree with....I always get split down the middle in situations like this because I am for the law being followed, but I am also a mother.

However, I do think that if we would have found out that they received the phone call, but nobody did anything....everyone would be upset about that as well.

In Texas it looks like the best way to molest children is to start a religious sect.

Isn't a sixteen year old's phone call probable cause? Not to mention they can't find her anywhere.

I seen it coming from the very beginning the cops and everyone else jump the gun on this one. Not saying that these people need to be looked at but do it legal not the ILLEGAL way that they did it.

I keep hearing how Texas is a primarily Republican state, but from everything I see of their politicians, the behavior is all Democrat. If they ever elect a Democrat government, Texas will make Massachusetts look like Reagan country.

Only some of the kids are to be returned. The police and child services had a warrant to enter the property to investigate the allegations. Once there, they discovered some evidence of abuse, fraud, etc... It will take a while to sort it all out. The lying by the members of the group did not help them out at all.
