Just as long as you had some witnesses. You should be able to handle things outside of court. You might be guilty of assault, but he is too. So if he were to sue you. Your boss would be able to sue him. Basically you going to jail is not going to happen because you have not done anything you need to be punished for. If you stabbed him that is a different story. That could be attempted homicide. But you hit him. You have nothing to worry about. I hope your boss is going to give you a raise. |

Nope; so long as there is a witness to back up your story - you're free and clear, pal! :) |

If the guy presses charges then you could be arrested for assault but you would more than likely be able to beat it. If not then you would more than likely only be fined with community service. Worst case you would get probation. It's not likely that he will press charges though knowing that he could get in trouble too. |

Depends.... if the person could play the "race" card, they will come after you if they find out it was you. They'll whine about it being a hate crime, and some half-spineless judge will side with them to appear "neutral." In all the years I worked at a grocery store, the only times when we got in trouble was when someone said we were only doing something because they weren't white. |
