k , my buddy just told me that when you get sentenced u only spend half the time in jail....is it really like that .? , and why

so , my other buddy went to jail for b&e , and he got sentenced 4 years....would he only gotta serve half of that ?

and it also depends on his behaviour....right ?

yes it usually depends on behavior. They have an early release program that alot of people take, but they still have to see a parole officer about once or twice a month and most of the time they can't leave the state and have to be home by a certain time
