A very big thankyou to all who try to make and keep us safe in our own country.
Curse the evil swines that have been welcomed here and wish to harm us may they reach their maker very soon. |

I am, and I really believe that others are grateful for the sacrifices, not only of first responders like fire and police men/women.
I think we need to realize that not only Americans, but so many members of the EU and most people are making sacrifices so that this can be a safer world.
I'm grateful for the sacrifices of nurses, doctors, and all people who help out in any way; you know if you've made a difference, not only in 9/11 or Katrina, but in ANY disaster, small or large.
I just don't think we spend enough time honoring everyone who sacrifices; and what better time than our INDEPENDENCE DAY. |

Absolutely, spot on Helen.
While the British spirit lives, the terrorists will NEVER win.
Central London was packed on Saturday after the 2 devices were found. We will not let them win. |

this question gets a star for sure
Mr Kerr
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/glasgow_and_west/6269970.stm
and the others 'TRUE BRIT, TRUE GRIT'
like someone else said here never mess with a glaswegian
I hope he gets to read these words from us
cos i for one stand up and applaud you, this is our home, dont mess.
i only hope that if i am ever to end up in a simillar situation i'd be one of the first to wade in, im a big bloke and wouldnt mind using some of it to show some bomber (i dont call them terrorists cos they dont terrorize me) just what patriotism REALLY is.
If you're ever down south look me up I'd be honored to have a drink with you.
Funny how they never try to take a plane coming back from tenerife ... could you imagine it .... 'In news today an attempted hijacking of a flight from tenerife was halted today after the passengers first laughed at the hijackers and then threw them out of the plane mid flight ...'
TRUE BRIT MR KERR TRUE BRIT !!!!!!!
also may i just add ... Our patriotic peeps at Mi6 or 5 or whichever division is involved, you never get the right praise for stopping the ones that you do. There are those of us who hear of the ones you catch before they do the damage and know you guys are there and have been for years ...Thank you !!! |

As an Engishman who married a Scottish lass, lived ther for a while, I can say without any hesitation that anyone who thinks they can mess with a Scot is a fool.....

What a lovely thought. Yes, it is so nice to hear of people like this because all too often in this modern age people are too afraid to become involved for fear of getting hurt themselves. |

Well done, Helen S! Thanks are not enough for what was done by the police and public involved.
I'd say don't let this page die after three days either. When it's done, why not print it and take/send it to the main police station in Glasgow so they can paste it on the notice board/circulate it to the other station houses involved? |

Definatley, may they keep up the good work, I live very close to the airport and this was scary, but knowing the bravery of our fellow country men I think we all can rest easier.

I have a "thank you" for cops that don't break any laws and treat people with courtesy and respect.
For those that don't, I have an "I am extremely disappointed in you" and I stand by that.
Finally, I think that people should be careful when they thank cops. You should make sure that the cop you are thanking is a good person. There are a lot of horrible people out there that work as cops (don't kill the messenger...I can SHOW you if you want to come to Denver) and they really do not need to feel any thanks from anyone.
Just be selective I say.
And for those who may give me a thumbs down, realize that you are giving a thumbs down to a fundamentally correct school of thought. |
