Anybody know how long the correctional officer program at San Joaquin Valley College?

Before you spend so much time and money, make sure the program from SJVC will help you and give you a step up on any facility you want to work at. If you want to work for the state, these types of programs are a waste of time and money.
All the correctional facilities I'm aware of have their own academies and that type of program does not give you any perks.

If you want to be a CO, why not let California pay for your training and pay you a salary while you are there? Going to a private school to learn the business is like paying to go to boot camp before joining the Army.
