Some yes.
But not all.
There's (as they say) good cops, and bad cops.
I've seen blatant corruption and heard outright lies firsthand from the mouths of these so-called heroes.
And it's sad but I've lost all the respect I used to have for them. |

A hero is someone who takes action above and beyond the call of duty! Police officer doing his job everyday is not a hero, not a hero! If jumps into a pull to save a life, one may call him a hero, but we are supposed to protect and serve the public! An officer going into burning building saving the day, is considered heroic, but a fireman doing the same, is doing his job! |

Absolutely not! Just like not all people in the military really "serve" their country. This is a common misconception. However, in my experience, most are willing to be that hero if the moment presents itself. Most are well to do individuals that are good people. However, I have seen both military and police officers as corrupt, selfish people. Don't assume someone is a hero just because of their occupation, that is naive and ignorant. |

No they are not. Some are just people who need to work for the government because they can't make it in the private sector workplace. |

All police officers can be considered heroes. They are all human and obviously good people to have the heart to become a peace officer. If they passed the requirements and the hiring process then obviously they are good people and have always abide the law. Its just what you see on the news that makes the stories and give the police a bad reputation. Who do people call when they are in trouble? the police. Who answers the call in your time of need? the police. Its just people dont usually get to see the good things that police officers do also. Its just the stress of the job and the discipline at the academy and their experiences that makes some turn out the way you think they are. |
