I am just curious because i have a 2 pairs, one with knives sticking out and the other pair is with spikes. Are they illegal? and if they are what is the punishment for carrying it?

Criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree is a class A misdemeanor.
Class A misdemeanors are punishable by up to 1 year in jail.

If you mean BRASS knuckles, then yes it is against the law to carry them in the big apple. It is considered carrying a concealed weapon and is a misdemeanor punishable by a fine and up to 2 years in the pokey. Brass knuckles are sold with a disclaimer on them that they are sold as paperweights |

I'm not sure about NYC, but in most states and municipalities, brass knuckles and knives as you described are either illegal or require a concealed weapons permit to carry. |

As someone who is familiar with the law the answer to your question is 'No', they are not legal. If you get caught with them it's as if you were carrying a gun. You will go up on a felony charge. They can and will charge you with concealment of a dangerous weapon. Don't do anything stupid just to look cool. This isn't T.V. |
