I would say the same number as civilians. Somewhere between 1-100. |

Do you think there is any other profession out there that would have more people that would turn in the money? |
|

can't tell you but I do believe there are some good honest cops out there. |

cops are just people like everybody else. they're not more honest, but they aren't less either. some of them are nice; some are mean; some abuse their power; some would give their lives to do the right thing. |

Who knows in the end they are just people so how many people out of a hundred would turn in millions? |

They are looking for trouble if they don't, for sooner or later they will be drawing attention to themselves, and questions will most invariably be asked. regarding honesty cops are for the main part liars (Stick and a gun as their tools of trade) doesn't that answer your question. |

Depends if they think they could really get away with it personal opinion lol. |

I am sure at least a couple would, but just like everything else, you can't know until it happens. I would say that there are a lot of cops out there that are not as honest as they should be, but there are probablly just as many that are. |

Are cops honest? Yes. At least they start off that way. The desire to become a cop is in itself noble. Without a doubt some will stray.
As for the million dollars, it is a loaded question. It would be hard for anyone to find that much cash, without questions being asked, and turn it in. |

You have obviously never been stopped at night for walking and heard the old,"We have had reports of burglaries in the area" line of crap--have you? Or seen the old police report that says you said five minutes worth of BS, that you did not say. OR.........................................
As to the money--maybe 1, 2 tops!! |
|

I would say 75 of them would turn it in. 25 would keep the cash. It seems like people on here forget that they are HUMAN!! Even cops have financial problems. Who wouldn't at least be tempted to keep a million dollars cash? |

What about you?
If you find a bunch of neatly packed 20 dollar bills on the floor of a gas station (what a pleasure when this happens), if the you ask the gas station attendant and he says he has not heard anyone, are you going to put it back on the floor or in your pocket?
They try to be honest like most people but don't exagerate the temptation. |

out of 100, i'd say 90 of them would. I used to be a cop. |

turning in abandoned property would not prove honesty. and in that scenario it would only prove stupidity. |

I would guess 0, there the most dishonest a**holes out there! |

It all depends on the area where they live to be honest. There are some countries or areas of the US where the cops are paid extremely poorly and treated like crap, so in that situation maybe 1-5 will turn in the money. But then there are other places where cops are well paid and respected by the majority of the people (and just from reading the responses there are a couple here that don't respect them), there'd be a much higher percentage that would turn the money in.
So really, asking "100 cops" creates way too much of a generality to be answered correctly. Nice topic though :) |

Ask the NYPD's former commissioner. You know, the one recommended by Rudy Guliani to serve in the Dept of Homeland Security, but just this Friday he was indicted after pleading guilty to accepting..... MONEY AND BRIBES!
But you know what coppers here say.. it is only one or two in thousands that are rogue, right? |

Stupid question, I bet out of a 100 cops and a 100 "other" workers, more of the 100 cops would turn in the cash than the other workers.. |
