Provincial parking by-laws require that actual signs be in place and visible for any type of regulated parking spot. This means that if the ground is painted blue and has a giant "handicap" symbol painted on the ground, BUT, has NO sign saying that that is a handicap spot, then it is not legally a handicap spot.
What I was wondering is if this also applies to federal property. I live in a dormitory and a federal institution, and there is a handicap spot out front (as indicated by the painted handicap symbol on the ground), but no accompanying signs.
