Are police officers allowed to marry felons?

I guess I can understand the concern, like someone else pointed out, a convicted felon CANNOT have or be around a firearm, and police officers, I believe, bring their gun home...But, at the Same Time, ALL U.S. citizens have the Right to marry ANYONE they so desire & the Same should apply to a police officer! I know someone who wants to become a police officer & is currently getting her Associate's Degree, so I'm gonna star your question, I asked on here about whether you get paid to go to the Police Academy, she's currently working Full Time & going to school Full Time, she has a 16 1/2 month old son to support & she CAN'T give up working to go to the Police Academy, but I understand the Police Academy is a strenuous job in itself & may not leave any time or energy to also work a Full Time job!

I would say Yes but the part where he/she can't associate with a felon or the part where a felon Can't have firearms in the house might be a problem. I would call the police officers association in your area for the true answer. Good Luck!!!

they can do whatever they want...they r cops. my one cousin is a felon and he dated a cop for awhileee they were engaged but she ended up being a ho and dumped him..lol and then my other cousin is a cop in Milwaukee, WI and he is still the same kinda guy he used to be, his best friend is a felon, and I'm pretty sure he can marry whoever the **** he wants to..haha..yeah that's the stupidest thing I've ever heard.

Not thinking so.
It is considered a conflict of interest and does not paint the police officer in a good light ethically if he is choosing to marry a felon.

NO! or they cant be a police offercer anymore and have to devorce the person!
