I am in Vancouver and planning to become a police officer. However, I have one speeding ticket on my records while I was living in US, is that going to show up in my records while applying for this Job in Canada or they are only going to look at my driving records in Canada?

Just come clean. Having a speeding ticket will not disqualify you. But if you get caught in a lie it will. |

oh please, they wont accept you if you dont have AT LEAST one speeding ticket, it's an essential skill to be a cop |

Well, they will know because you will answer the question about if you have ever had a moving violation....for gosh sakes, man....you didn't hatchet a woman with an axe, just before you got that ticket did you?

As long as you have no felonies, or misdemeanors, where you won't be enable to carry a gun, then you have nothing to worry about. |

I do not think a speeding ticket would matter at all. If police officers didn't get tickets as well as us then something is wrong. If it was a DUI..then you may have a problem. |

i dont think it will. Some states in the U.S. dont even share driving records, though I think now many have started. But s far as from country to country, i doubt it. |

Yes. EVERYTHING ever documented about you, anywhere... they will know about it all. It's best to be up front about it. A speeding ticket is not a big deal at all anyway. They'll be looking for things that are far worse than that on your record. |

Doubt it, but one speeding ticket is no big deal when applying to be a cop.
Hell I know a cop was hired even with a "unlawful discharge of a firearm" charge on his record. |

have been on a employment board for police. it is important to mention but will only go to your advantage,that you was up front; not too bothered about the ticket but the honersty. |

MOST LIKELY THEY WILL DO A FULL BACKGROUND CHECK. YOU SHOULD TRY TO TAKE CARE OF THAT TICKET OR AT LEAST PLEAD SOMETHING. |
