Most of the crime in my area must occur in the local chip shop. The cops are never out of it but it took them two days to call with me after I reported a break in.

I think you need to take your blinkers off and look at the wider picture.
The GOVERNMENT are seriously hampering what the police do. I spend far too much time doing unecessary things brought in by the government, which seriously effects how much time we are able to patrol.
I would love to show the average member of the public what paperwork and other related rubbish we have to complete. You would be horrified. |

I was broken in to at 5am on Tuesday morning, the police have still not been after promising to come within three hours.
My husband is in hospital, I am home alone with a baby and a three year old.
I can't change the locks until forensic's have been (if they ever come) and the theives took my keys to my house.
I have not slept since because I am scared they are going to walk in to my house at any moment.
My Dad is taking time off work to sleep on my sofa, to protect us and the house while I am out.
So no I am not happy with my local bobbies, and not at all in favour of this backdated pay rise at the moment. |

You mean apart from my mate being mugged, me being harrased by some drunken man, the old 70yr old lady that everyone knows sells drugs, the girl who got raped, the other who got stabed and oh yea the police have said on each ocassion they have no power to do anything... yea i'm pretty happy with that...(j/k) |

Whilst I agree with P.C. 'BEAR' about rubbish paperwork the police have to fill in for this useless government I think the question is directed at the police management. You only have to look at some of the antics of senior police officers exposed by the media to know where the trouble lies. Should I mention the notorious Ian Blair?. |

our local police have grandmothers!! who could sort out the crime problems easyer. if theres no revenue in it for them, they aint interested. if they disbanded today, i dont think any one would notice for months. |

Here in London our local fuzz are on perma-standby to dash up to London at any moment. It's a security thingy. Also they get far too much paperwork. I mean, filling out long boring forms all day long with a much licked pencil stub is not a load of laffs.

the cops in our town have nothing to do. We are so small and an uppermiddle class town. When someone gets pulled over for speeding, it's been a busy day. The only crime that happens in our town is all the druggies in my highschool. But then again it's not their job to deal with it because we are so small we go to the next town over. |

Not at all. It seems like all the cops do is set up check points to arrest people for DUI. They stopped 7000 cars over Thanksgiving and wrote 230 tickets. That seems like a very inefficient use of their time. Of course, the police have no duty to protect individuals anyway, so it's no surprise they only chase the crime flavor of the month. |

It is not the fault of the Officers, blame this Government for the red tape, paperwork and stupid targets. Without this the Officers would be able to spend more time protecting the public and fighting crime. |
