depends on the states and countrys maybe more years in prison

All depends on the severity of the assault and penalty which the state law provides should follow.

ron
it depends on the situation, but i think in general triple the amount of a normal assault charge. After all if he/she is willing to attack a cop i don't want that person in my community.

It's possible since he's a 1st timer that he cld get probation depending how the judge feels that morning. But in all honesty, assault on a police officer is a big, BIG NO, NO. The judge could feel he needs a warning and give him a few yrs to the max. I know you don't want to hear this, but who wld be so fearless as to assault a police. They are here to protect us. Good Luck, but in all honesty. It might do him some good to learn a little lesson even though it is the 1st time. Some things are so severe that a slap on the wrist just won't cut it. Sorry to hear what happened.

You should know if you did it...

Usually probation or house arrest..depends on your previous criminal record.

it will vary by state, and offense

but in new york, if you punch an officer

its 7,000 bail and up to 2 yrs

It varies from state to state and on the seriousness of the assault.

it depends on what you did and where you were. generally the police take care of their own pretty well.. so good luck.
