BC ONLY: License plate scanners on suspended license for shared cars?

Recently, my brother has gotten his notice of prohibition from driving for 90 days from the Department of Public Safety. Yes, he deserved it; two speeding tickets in the last year etc.
However, the cars primary owner under our insurance is my father, and the car is insured for any Novice drivers (ie. myself). We had been sharing the car up to this point.
I've heard about license plate scanners being used to identify any cars belonging to unlicensed drivers. My question is, am I going to have to go through the hassle of being pulled over constantly now because the license plate is flagged? Or does the scanning system show that there are multiple people who drive that car?

All stolen vehicle license plates, all vehicle license plates associated to uninsured drivers, vehicles associated with unlicensed drivers.
Heres my best answer: I think you will be fine. I believe that since your father is the main insurer of the vehicle, your brothers license is not directly associated with the vehicle.
The car is not stolen - your good. The vehicle IS insured - your good. The vehicle is not technically associated with an unlicensed driver (your father) - your good.
To be honest with you (dont tell your brother), but they probably couldnt catch him driving illegally anyway - unless he speeds again. |
