Now, I'm not defending the worthless animal that killed those two officers, but banning political dissent would be a violation of the First Amendment. How do you think this country was founded? The founding fathers were the perfect examples of political dissenters. Limiting our constitutional rights would be an insult to the officers and military personnel that go through hell and risk their lives to protect our freedoms on a daily basis. |

Political Dissent is a way for people to let of steam, and to convince others that some sort of change is needed. The tension released by this far outweighs the amount of mayhem done by people who misinterpret dissent as an excuse for violence.
If you banned dissent, instead of the lone nutcase, large numbers of people would reach for guns instead of signs and banners to address their problems. |

You have your titles slightly off kilter. This is not "political dissent", which implies disagreeing with the current government, but working within the laws of that government to voice that disagreement. If we ever lose that right, we will no longer live in the USofA.
This is not a guy waving a flag for the tea party or Obamacare. This is a "sovereign citizen" nutcase. These guys don't even qualify as right wing extremists, they are working their own agenda against everyone else no matter which party they claim to be a member of. They don't recognize the government as having any authority over them, and pretty much do what they want. Or at least try to do what they want. It doesn't work very often. |

I'm sure if Comrade 0bama can figure out how to silence all dissent,using the actions of a few nuts as an excuse,he will.Isn't that basically the first rule of all Marxists,Silence All Dissent.
I can't help but wonder too if this will later be another case of them saying that the victims were "gunned down with AK-47s" which always later turn out to be an SKS Sporter or similar weapon.Gotta have that "nuts running around with fully automatic weapons" paranoia in every news story about a shooting though.
