Blind Iraqi Driver?
Find answers to your legal question.

Blind Iraqi Driver?

Read in the paper today, that a Blind Iraqi driver, with 2 fingers missing, and a really bad twitch, got stopped for driving a car (in the UK), he had no Driving licence or insurance. I read he got fined about £300, and get this Banned from Driving for 3 years (hang on did i say he didnt have a licence) also he is claiming disability allowance for a injury he sustained in Iraq. No wonder people flock to the UK. Anyway the question being, if you are not a driver and get caught driving then surely you should be banned for life, how can you ban somebody for something they shouldnt be doing anyway.

i think the fact he is blind is more important than the licence...i would have banged him up.

Euphojim
People who have no respect for the UK legal system, as he clearly doesn't should not be here. Deportation is the only appropriate punishment.

He should be deported. And anybody who drives without insurance shoud be locked up.

He was already driving without a license, what makes them think that is going to make a difference? We have the same problem here in the states.Makes you wonder what happened to common sense.

Only in Birmingham! I'm suprised he was spotted given the standard of driving in this place- but he was depressed and his mate wanted to cheer him up! Maybe the blind man was stupid but the real idiot is the friend in the passenger seat! Both should be banned from ever driving anything, and fined a huge amount-

I thought he was a British citizen?

richie
i saw a van driving through London with a sign on the back
saying Iraqi thief driving no hand signals

SUPER-GLITCH
If this is actuallly true, I would think DEPORT him would have made more sense, this would have happened in most other countries?!?

Deportation has got to be a deterant, surely?

By the sounds of things, had he killed someone, they most probably would have given him a prize!?!

taketwo
what's your punishment would be.

LYN W
He committed an offence that could have caused serious injury or death and the offender knew this. Deportation without leave to appeal!!

Bealzebub
He should have been deported. Come to our country, abide by our laws. If he can't do that, which he clearly can't, then irrespective of any problems he had at home he should be sent back to cause his trouble in his own country. Then they can deal with him.

Typical of the crazy court and justice system in this country.

This does not make any sense to me. He was a loving man the article says. If he was such a loving man, why did he kill 4 police officers?
