They already know I have a valid license, they ran my information-they gave me a ticket for not having it on me.

This is as archaic as the requirement that you have an insurance card. All this info in on the database now. They already know who you are before they see your ID. |

Bring the license in with the ticket. If it was valid at the time it will be the cheapest ticket the Peoples Republic of California government will collect.. Probably less than a thousand.
Here in Florida, They give you a pamphlet to give you the instructions on how (much) to pay.
