um... why the hell would you? And I guess it would depend if you bought the space and the tombstone. You couldn't get in trouble for destroying your own stuff, but again why would you? hmmm.. this reminds me of Ed gein

Considered vandalism and destruction of property. Might not go to jail but you would get a HUGE fine and probation.

I don't know, you possibly(probably!) could for vandalism, destruction of property, etc.

But going to prison, aside, who in their right mind would want to destroy their deceased mother's tombstone? Furthermore, what would be the point of it, anyway?

Jail, probably not other than overnight. But you can be ordered to buy a new one if you get caught. Tombstones cost more than they should.

criminal trespass, disturbing the peace, destruction of private property.. sounds like someone is getting a lump of coal in their stocking this year. you wont go to prison , but you may end up in jail, and mommy won't be there to bail you out.. Honor thy Mother and Father. You may want to take the sledge hammer for a test drive.. i would suggest trying it out on your pinky toe first

Uh . . . well yes. First off the cemetery that she is buried in can ask for trespassing charges against you. And in addition whoever purchased to tombstone can can take you small claims court for wrongful/and or unlawful destruction of property dude. Nothing serious will come of it. However the legal and court costs can add up if your not careful. All I can say is Woosah . . . woosah . . . let it go.

Only your own prison. But you would sure get some mean penalites for vandalizing a cememtary.
I take it that you don't like your mom. Put the hate away, better yet just throw it away and see only the good she has brought. It takes a good and strong person do to this.
