Can I get a job as a Parole Officer with a Associates in Criminal Justice?

I live in the state of Colorado and I am working on my associates degree in Criminal Justice. I currently work in a corrections facility as a corrections technician so I work closely with probation,parole and pretrial services. I am not planning on stopping with an associates degree but I am focusing on receiving that first before I make big plans to get my bachelors. I want to work as a Parole Officer and I was just wondering if I could become one with an associates degree, if I can I will continue to work on getting my bachelors and then from there my masters. Can anybody help me out? Thanks to all who reply.

In CA you need at least a 4 year degree to be a parole officer

What with the corrupt insatiable prison industry and the way this country has begun to create an entire generation of convicts, I'm sure you could get a job as a "Parole Officer" with a certificate out of a box of Cracker Jacks and no one would ever know the difference.

You don't have to be very smart to be in law enforcement, don't worry about working too hard either. You just have to be willing to wear the uniform and cover-up for your co-worker's incompetences and brutalities and you'll do just fine.
