I live in a city in North Carolina which is known as "Race City USA" and people are always loud and crazy this time of year.
Usually when I see a cop while I am driving, I turn off my music. I drive a convertible so I didnt know if I could actually get a ticket or fined for my music being too loud.
I dont sit at stop lights with it blaring or anything, usually just when I am driving. So I am asking, whether I have the top down or not, is there a law in North Carolina regarding how loud your music can be?

There are noise ordinances all over, with different decibel levels defined as noise. Local governments usually pass them, instead of state.
So, depending where you are, and how loud you are, yes, you could get a ticket, even in North Carolina. |

I can't say about NC specifically, but in my city, we have a law and you can be ticketed for it.
Ours says that if it is audible 50 feet away, it's too loud.
It may not be a state law, it may be a local law for the city or county. |

I attended traffic school and one of my fellow attendees was there because he played his 'big amp' music too close to others. I am not sure if the ticket was for too close to other cars, buildings, or what. |
