I was pulled over and I asked why I was pulled over and he said "well lately we've had a lot of African Americans smuggle illegal immigrants near El Paso and we just want to make sure you aren't doing that" He then gave me a ticket for littering because a cigarette was thrown out, even though I have a lung condition that bars me from smoking or I risk immediate lung shut down.
How do I stop this mad man?

Trooper, so what? He still told me why he pulled me over but he still gave me the ticket.

You are talking about two separate incidents... suspicion of smuggling, and littering.
First incident: you can not claim racial profiling if you fit the description of a suspicious activity they are looking for.
Second incident: if a cigarette was thrown out the window, you as the driver can be held responsible. I couldn't help but notice you did not deny the cigarette came from your car, you just claimed you can not smoke. Is there a reason you worded it that way? |

umm get it on tape? just bring a doctors note in saying that you have a lung condition. the cop may ot show up in court, bu if he does, you better prey that he doesnt have this on video of you throwing a cig out.. and idk if thats really considered racism.. more of a racial profiling than anything |

You can fight it. You can get a note from your doctor or doctors stating you have a lung condition. If you were in the car alone, who threw the cigarette? No one it seems. So go fight the good fight, and good luck!!
Fighting it on the basis of racism will get you no where, as the area you are in, blacks are *purportedly* smuggling illegal immigrants. Now you can do research on that statement to see if it is correct or just a lie the cop gave you as an excuse to pull you over. (It is a well known fact blacks are pulled over far more often than others/whites) You will have to do your homework! |
