Can I report harrassment based on a phone call?

I was hanging out with this guy for about 2 months, and this morning he went to jail. I immediately decided to cut all contact with him and wouldn't take his collect calls. He got out tonight and made a phone call asking me why I wouldn't take his calls. I told him that I just want him to leave me alone. He said, "Ok, if you want to be a b****, then I'll just have to make a little visit to your house. You have to come outside sometime." I'm fear for my safety and the safety of my property. I have some idea now of what he's capable of, and don't want to be a victim. He lives about 3 counties away from me and can make it to my house fairly easily. Is there any way that I can have him arrested or warned or anything? Please help.

call the police and tell them exactly what happened, they can answer your question better then anyone on here.

Yes, you need to make a police report, and file for a restraining order.
This is definitely harassment, and the last call is a threat.
If possible, block his number.

You should definitely report him if you're in genuine fear for you life. He's most likely bluffing but things like that can't be taken lightly. You can and should call the police department and notify them. Also if it seems serious you should stay at someone else's house if you're really scared. But just notify the police and they'll make sure to scroll by your house and keep an eye on it and you.

Definitely! It's a plus if you have his phonenumber,but even if you should not have it.
They can still do something about it.
Just give the police his name and/or other info you should have on him.
I would call the police regardless.
Nobody desirve to be spoken to like that!

Call the police and get a restraining order but if he really wants to hurt you will not really stop him get a dog.... a REALLY big dog to protect you.

He can get arrested, its harrassment.

You absolutely can call the police, but I beleive they are going to ask you to get on the phone for atleast 4 minutes with this guy and he has to say incriminating things for them to be able to do anything (or a message left from him).

But go ahead and call the cops, they will be able to tell you what to do better than anyone on this website.

If he makes another phone call, try recording it so you'll have proof of the threats he makes.

In the meantime, make sure you are always with somebody when you leave the house. Most stalkers only attempt to instill fear in their victims without physically hurting them, but since he was arrested for something, he might be dangerous.

If he makes threats or any harmful domestic acts CALL THE POLICE!! U can file harassment charges and have him not come near you. And if he does try to come near you, you can have him arrested for harassing you!
