Being raped alone is not grounds for rejection. However, if the rape caused severe mental damage to the point that you would fail a psychological evaluation, then yes it can keep you from being a cop. |

Of course you can, but before you try ask yourself if you have too much emotional baggage. To become a police officer you have to pass a phycological evaluation. If you have delt with what you went through in a healthy way and are a stable person then there should be no reason why you couldn't become a police officer. |

Yes, I would say. Just be very careful when you go through your job phases which consist of several steps. One of the steps is Psy. Interview. You don’t want to bring up your past. As matter of fact, it is better not to disclose what happened to you in your initial application. Unless, you are sure that when the PD do you investigation, they would find out.
The more you disclosed the more chance they will reject you,
Let say, you told them that you were abused when you were a child. They would prob. think that you have a feelings problem and couldn't handle police work because in this line of work, you must have high degree of self control. |
