Private property is usually well marked on abandoned places. Yes, you can be arrested. |

You could be arrested for trespassing. It is most likely private property. |

Every property, whether abandoned or not is owned by somebody.
If it is a place that reasonably could be construed as public, then you would not really be in too much trouble unless there was a posted sign.
If it is a place that would normally have an expectation of privacy you could get in trouble.
If you had to break and enter, you would definitely get into trouble.
If you refused to leave you would definitely get into trouble. |

You can get caught with a trespassing case. |

It's called trespassing. Yes you can get arrested for it. And the building does NOT have to have a no trespassing sign posted. It's implied. |

It's called trespassing and yes you can be arrested. Yes the cops will chase you unless the bogie men get them first. |

If there is a building on it, it is owned by someone, so yes you are trespassing. Even if their isn't a building you may be trespassing. |

it is called trespassing at a minimum and breaking and entering if they want to push it. bad idea. |

Here's a real easy way to tell if you are trespassing.
If you don't own the land, you are trespassing. Will the police chase you.. probably not, they'll just wait by your car/truck until you come out. Or they'll just tow the vehicle.
I suggest you avoid going into places that don't belong to you. |
|

 |
you need permission from the owner. you cant just waltz into some old "haunted house". SOMEONE's got to own it, so youll get in trouble (if u get caught) |
|

Yes. While they may be "abandoned" so to speak, they do belong to someone. Chances are their are some No Trespassing signs around. Even if there are not any signs, the property belongs to some one. So no, legally you shouldn't be there and the police could arrest you. |

Yes, I used to check out haunted places all the time. I lucked out once, I and a friend went to check out Dudleytown, CT because it's supposed to be really haunted. I didn't see the "NO TRESPASSING" sign and went right in and checked it out. We didn't find a single ghost but the place is really wierd. I always go to these places in the daylight and then stay to well after dark. Later I found out that I could have gotten into some serious trouble had we been caught. That was back in 1998. You should check these things out and get permission first before you do any more ghost hunting in abandoned buildings. |

Yes. Somebody owns it. Be it state, local, or private. Besides, you drag a cop out of his nice warm patrol car, in the middle of the night...Figure it out. It's like trying to talk your way out of a ticket, in the rain! |

if the land is owned by a person or company, or if it was privite property you will get arrested for trespassing |
|

life*in*the*fast* lane

yes you can. chances are there is someone out there who owns the property and can charge you with criminal trespassing |
|

A good rule to remember is if you don't know the owner of the property or have permission, don't go on it. If the owner finds you on his property, he or she can have you arrested, with or without a posted sign like someone else was saying they must have. You don't have to have a no tresspassing sign on a house someone lives in to know that you could get in trouble for going in there if it's not yours. Same goes for houses people don't live in. Besides, it's stupid and dangerous to go into a house like that. If no one knows where you are and you get hurt, you're screwed. |

|
Of course you can
it could be your house one day
A bunch of kids are exploring and one of them might get hurt and YOU would be liable for all injuries LAW suit time It has and will happen big law suits as these
Remember they are only kids
Adults will get arrested because of arson |

It's either criminal trespass or burglary, depending on your jurisdiction. |

Yes. You can be arrested. Yes, they will chase you. If they have to chase you, they will come down on you harder. Look at it this way, if you don't own it and you don't have the owner's permission to be there, you are tresspassing and you can get into a lot of trouble. |
|

AJ
 |
If it is private property don't go. Tresspassing is the minamal charge you will face. If you force entry you can get charged with B&E. |

The question is, WHY would you want too?? |

not if you dont get caught |

Yes we can. If it's posted too for no tresspassing, we will take you and call the owner.
If it is abandoned, it might be dangerous too so we would come and get you out. |

if the land owner reports you for trespassing then yes; they can pursue you for your own safety...you know, against spooks and stuff. |

yeah the police will probably chase you if you are doing something destructive or doing something to disturb the peace or if you are breaking major curfew, but unless they have surveillance all over the place then you should go and hop the gate and do it anyways.
and if they DO chase you, you better run as fast as you can and don't give up and who cares the most they will do to you is probably give you a warning if you don't run and if you do run they my give you a fine for evading arrest. |
