Can a case re-open AFTER sentencing?

Hi, i had a $3000 embezzlement case on me and i was sentenced to probation and fine which im serving right now, however today i recieved a call from the attorney of the OTHER person who was involved in the case with me but was not found at the time of my sentencing, they called me me to get info from me of what happened or if i told on him. does that mean i can go back to the court for him? because i honestly HATE dealing with this i wish i could undo this one thing in my life...

thank you, looking forward

Sounds like this isn't your case... this is the other person's turn.

If you put the blame on the other person and got a lighter sentence because of it they will call on you to testify.

You will have to go through the process otherwise you could be open to additional charges ... like perjury.

*note
I am not a lawyer and without all the details even a real lawyer could only give a partial answer.

unless they press new charges on you they can not re-open your case, it falls under doubble jeopordy and goes against the 5th amendment. You do not have to talk to them unless your probation officer says so & even then have a lawyer there for you

Libertarian and proud of it
No. A case may only open once, unless the person wants to have an appeal.
Why do you think OJ got away?

A case can be reopened, if you are granted a new trail. Especially if there is discovery of new evidence.

Yes a case can re-open. There were lots of cases re-opened because it looked like they got the wrong person. Lots of people hate it when this happens especially after sentencing.
In one book, the LAPD re-opened a case. They had a person serving life on a murder and they saw another person committing the same exact crime so they knew that they got the wrong guy. It turned out the person that actually did it was running for mayor that year.
