go to your court date! sometimes the cop doesnt show up. if they dont your ticket wont matter they have to throw it out!
or my brother went and instead they made him to community service so yeah there are ways to get out of it! the judge may even agree with you! |

yes the police officer can give you a ticket once you have parked. You committed a traffic violation just because you parked does not mean it will go away. The officer was probably running your plates and did not have time to pull you over because you turned into the 7-11. If you think you were treated unfair or you don't deserve the ticket because you did not commit the violation plead not guilty on your court date and take the officer to court. Explain the situation to the judge and you might win the case depending on the way you present your self and if you have evidence. |

Yea, when ever a cop pulls you over don't you always park? he had the right grounds to give you a ticket, you are 17 so you won't win the ticket in court, just pay the fine and watch your driving. |

yes. you will need to pay the ticket |

The best thing to do is to pay it and forget about it. If you don't have the money to pay for it then go to court and be honest with them about what happened...then tell them that you don't have the money to pay for it. Also, it always helps to apologize, to admit that you were in the wrong, and assure them that it will never happen again. |

Syphon6 has answered your question in full. You are young and obviously trying to make a stand for something that you believe you did not do. Do Not be a hater of the police department, let the courts decide, but rethink the events that took place and ask yourself if you are sure you did not violate any of the traffic laws that the Officer wrote you for. Its a learning experience Good Luck to you!! |

You have the right to speak in court but your offense did not occur on private property. You were reckless driving in front of an officer who saw you from private property. They do not have to use their lights and sirens to stop a vehicle that is already stopped. If you feel that the officer was unprofessional then call his IA department. |

It's amazing. You get in trouble with the law and suddenly you're an attorney and whining about how the cops didn't do this or didn't do that. Or the cop yelled at you, or was unprofessional, blah, blah, blah. Save it.
It doesn't matter where you are now it only matters where the alleged crime occurs.
You mentioned the cop saw with his own two eyes your crappy driving. So who do you think a judge is going to believe. A seasoned traffic cop or some 17 year old kid?
My advice is to pay the ticket. Reckless driving is serious stuff. So look for higher insurance premiums and points on your license. Your parents are going to kill you so you might want to invest in a bus pass so you can at least get to work.
Then enjoy your summer being grounded to the house.
I'm glad I am not a father. My kids would hate me. |

Of course he can. As long as he witnesses you making an illegal driving move, he can give you the ticket after you parked. He should have asked for your registration and insurance, but sometimes they don't. I'm not sure why.
Anyway, he was probably just bored and had to fill his quota for the night/week/month. Just pay it, it's not worth fighting. |

Rule One: Fight every ticket, nothing to lose everything to gain. Don't plead guilty for a reduced fine.
Focus on the charge, not the cop. He did what he was required to do, the lights, registration, insurance were not the issue |

You'll have a court date, just go to court on that date stand there and nod your head and you'll most likley get off. Or if there is no points involved on your driving record or it doesnt effect you insurance, just pay the ticket and go back to the 7-11 at night dressed in black (try to not be noticed) and egg his cruiser! |

Yea he can pull you over but reckless driving on private property ticket seems to be unnessasary so i would question that. |

take it to court and have them take a look at the police video. if he was sitting in the parking lot then there really is no way for him to have proof. its his word vs. yours. |
|

I'm hungry.
|
No. You'd have to start driving for a minute, then get pulled over. |

if you show up for court on the date that was given, to contest the ticket(s), and the officer does not show up, laws generally say that you can't be charged for that ticket. Also you can claim entrapment if the officer did not have lights on (parking lights) but it would be hard to prove. Good luck and I hope this helps. |

Fight it in court. If the cop doesn’t show they will throw it out. Check to see that every thing on the ticket is right, like the date your plates number your name. Any thing wrong with the ticket they will throw it out. |
