There are laws on displays of profanity, both written and verbal. It would certainly make an officer look for other violations of your driving or vehicle compliance. Why look for trouble? It will always find you when you do. |

In Texas, you will get pulled over if you have a bumper sticker that says "420". I also think you get your car searched. |

It will depend on local/state laws, but generally speaking - yes they can. There are standards for public decency.
It's not a freedom of expression issue. It's the same as how you can't say the f-word on network television, but you can say it all your want at home. |

No, it would not hold up in court. The judge would try his best to find some type of statute law regarding this and would come up empty handed. You can't scream fire in a movie theater that's against the law but having a bumper sticker with a profanity is in no way against any law regardless of what anyone tells you. Freedom of speech goes a long way and does not have many restrictions unless like I said your screaming FIRE in a movie theater. |

They will do whatever they want and then it's up to you to prove your innocent.
For the most part police officers do not have to follow those rules any more. There are rules in place, but cops will pull you over for anything they want and later say you were driving erratically or speeding etc.... |
