Can a cop put me in hand cuffs or in the back of his car if i am only 14?

i know he cant pat me down or anything till my parents get around but could he cuff me or put me in the back of his car b4 they get there?

back the hell off, i didnt do anything wrong..i was walking up the street with a gas mask in my hand and some old lady got scard and called the cops...

i was useing the gas mask to scare my friends...ever since that happend he has been driveing up and down the street being a ***

Yes you can be stopped, searched, handcuffed, detained in a car, arrested, and briefly questioned like anyone else. We even do post-arrest recorded videotaped interviews without parents present in DC. Some jurisdictions require the presence of parents before a formal interview AFTER arrest but everything else is legit there too.

You might want to watch the whole gas mask in public thing too...in this Post 9/11 Era some jurisdictions might be able to stretch that into a "causing a breach of the peace" type arrest like shouting fire in a theater...some people are still frightened of anything that makes them worry....wearing a gas mask in a public place, much less a crowded place, would certainly cause worry.

yes. a cop can arrest you at your age. hell, they even arrest 5 year olds these days. 14 year olds are not immune from getting arrested.

Yes. I cop can come into your house without permission now if he wants to, thanks to good ol' George W. Bush. A cop can do pretty much anything he wants now that the Patriot act was passed.

Um... yes he can. In most states 14 is well beyond the point where someone can argue that they didn't know the difference between right and wrong.

Oh and yes they can "pat you down" with out a parent present.

Yes he can put you in cuffs and car for personal saftey. And he/she can pat you down also called a "Safety Search. It also depends on where you are but in Maine they have two hours to contact your parents until then they are yours.

Yes he can. By the way "legal eagle", he can also pat you down. Only thing he can't do is question you after he arrests you. With your limited knowledge of the law, you would be best served to obey the laws.
