Can a state correctional officer have contact with a felon?

can the correction officer take guardianship of a felons child and still have the felon come over and is on probation for at lease 5 yrs

Hello Oscar. I can only answer for the state of Ohio, where I live and work, but in this state, it is completely forbidden for any Correctional staff to have any type of personal or business relationship with any person while they are still under the control of the Department ( meaning still on parole or probation). Once the felon is off paper and is completely free, the restriction is lifted.

It would probably be a good idea for you to run it by your supervisor(s), warden, to save you some grief. Technically you cannot have any relationships with known felons
