Can an arresting male officer body search a female arrestie without a female officer in the presense?

i was being booked for a warrent and driving on suspended lic. and i was patted down at the seen bye a male officer. then i was transported to the station and the arresting male officer and a male bailif where the only two there with me . I then was asked to go to the bath room and remove my bra and stand faceing the wall , with my arms and legs spread wide open and body searched again and the officer felt under my breast and continued down my body feeling at my crouch and *** . i thought there was supossed to have a female officer present or female of some sort. but there were only them two. is that right? not sure if was legal?

Did this really happen? Sounds unbelievable to me. If so, the part that took place in the bathroom seems out of line.

Not sure of all the legalities. But,in this day and age i would guess every officer needs to protect himself. Which would explain the initial pat down.The second one.They may or may not have a female officer available at all hours of the night or day.Having two people present probably covers their assets.They all stick together anyway.Male or female.That is the regular drill though.Pat down first. Then strip search to make sure you are not smuggling something in.Very uncomfortable and humiliating in the name of everyones protection.Sorry you had to go through it.

Totally legal. In the absence of a female officer, one male searches while the other male observes to ensure that nothing inappropriate happens. The reason he asked you to remove your bra, he checked your crotch, etc. is because those are great hiding places for guns, knives, drugs, and the like. Female criminals often tape shanks and small knives in such places, so if a search like yours wasn't done, the police officer gets stabbed in the neck.

Don't blame the police for doing their job. Getting searched is no fun, but the fact remains that you had a warrant for your arrest and they did what they needed to do.

Does your boyfriend have a sharp knife, be the last time they pull that crap. I've had officers stop ex girlfriends and ask for a ******* to forget the ticket. Cops are all corrupt is what I've found out. You can try and get a lawyer, but you'll never get justice in todays corrupt courts. Sorry that happened, Good Luck!!!!

This is only legal if the officers felt that they were in eminent danger other than that they should of had a female officer conduct the search. You should file a complaint with the sheriffs department and then contact an attorney so as to be better advised on your course of action to take.

Way out of line but common. They will only call you a liar. always speak up for yourself. never ever open your car door for anyone. You can ask for a female cop ( if that helps I don't know) Or have them call 911.
