Honestly, yes. Being off duty has nothing to do with it. Did he did this in the correct manner, NO!
However, all these people telling you to report him is funny to me because I would like them to answer this question... How are you going to report him when all you seen was a badge? She does not have a name, badge #, patrol car #, etc.?
Can you still get a ticket for this, yes. THIS may be the only way you would be able to know who the officer is and then report him. |

You can still get a ticket for running the stop sign.
However the cops actions were grossly inappropriate, I'd suggest reporting him to his supervisor or his department's Internal Affairs dept. |

BEFORE there is a next time something like this happens.. familiarize yourself with where your nearest police station is ... GO THERE CALMLY.. pretend you do not see an attacker in the rear view mirror. When you get there.. park by the front door and go inside . IF the guy or woman is a real cop they will follow you inside ..if not they will leave. Anyone can get a badge. Next time get his or her license plate if possible. Or take a pic of their vehicle if possible so you can show it to the police as you make a report.
People are getting crazier and crazier. REAL cops do not drive like that... I would say it was a faker with road rage. |

You do not have any credentials that this person was really a police officer. My son is a police officer and would never react this way, which is not to say that there aren't police officers out there that don't take their position a little out of control. The mere fact that he was swerving in and out of traffic is not a good sign. If indeed he is a police officer, he needs to be reported. If you have any major concerns, report this incident to the police immediately, as it may very well be a predator. Good luck! |

Yes they can. They have a responsibility to do so, they will be in trouble if they don't. |

If you got citation, take photo of stop sign for defence. It may help get fine reduced, then report you were chased as you said here. He may have other complaints as well for inapprapte behavior. Your sister will have to make statement also Go sit in on a traffic court to get feel how answers are presented and fines given. It will help you prepare your statement. *mamatx |

He can swear out a complaint concerning a vehicle violation, just like any citizen. Will he prevail in court? Who knows. |
