My cousin is divorced and have 2 kids from previous marriage.
She had been dating a person who's in law enforcement for over a year now.
They had a major break up last year and told her "i hate to do this to you, but i think it's better if we just remained friends" his reason was because of the allegations (which are pretty serious) that's awaiting for trial.
The officer knew about my cousin's situation from the beginning and told him about it also.
He also said he's on her side and that he knows she's a good person. He also said he believes that she's innocent. He also told her that she's a magnificent gal and if only the legal matter didn't exist, that he would marry her.
This guy really messed up my cousin by breaking up with her a day b4 Thanksgiving.
She was doing really well when during Christmas the officer called her and said he had a major back surgery and my cousin was there by his side caring for him (which of course led to them getting back together)
The thing is she just found out that she's pregnant and the officer is the father.
We just realized that he's been treating her and the baby inside her like "a big dirty little secret" (apparently no one seem to know at his work that they are back together) She said he's afraid that he might lose his job, if ever his boss finds out about them.
My cousin had done nothing but Good to this officer. We have been giving her love and support most specially now that she's pregnant but after the trial we still need her to be strong and courageous because my niece and nephew need their mom to fight for them.
The officer want to continue seeing her but afraid that it might cost him his job. Is that true?!?
I love my cousin and very much want to help her see the truth abt the matter. If there's someone that could give great advice or know abt law enforcement life style we would love to hear it. Thank You

If she's awaiting trial, it's more than simple 'accusations'... she's been indicted for a criminal offense.
An officer can lose his or her job for 'conduct unbecoming an officer' if he or she has a personal relationship with a convicted or suspected felon.....
So, he's telling her the truth... she needs to get her life in order asap. |

Well...most police departments general orders dictate that Officers are not aloud to associate with people of "questionable character" i.e. criminals. Just like most general orders prohibit officers from owning a bar as it is a conflict of interest...some departments are really tight and others not so much....outdated maybe....but that's how it is so it demands on the department that he is on. In said that...he has a union..he might get reprimanded for breaking general orders but not fired. Plus I'm not sure it would count if the person is their "significant other".
I would understand though if he did not want to go around broadcasting it at work or anywhere for that matter just because it he would be looked at negatively.
As far as the kid and relationship....that's a whole nothing answer...more of a personality issue.....good luck! |

Officers are not to associate with felons. You cousin was not convicted. If he cared, the officer would have stood by her. He dumped her because he's either married, or met someone else. |
