Say you have a baby and they grab the gun and shoot the neighbor.... Well you would go to jail for making the gun available to the baby...same with the baby putting commet clenser or bleach in a drink... You are suppose to watch the
kid. And keep dangerous things out of reach... |

The only way a baby could be convicted of a crime is if it's UNborn and the mother commits a crime. Then, yes, it can go to jail.
Other than that. NO. |

Simple answer...no, they are too young and for them to go to jail it would be too much of a hastle to get funds/practice together...and it's mentally scaring for a baby.
The same will go for kids that commit crimes, they would be placed in a camp or detention center, not prison (which I think that's what you are thinking of). There are loops where they can be tried as adults and end up in prison, but that's in major cases. |

Children under 10 can't be charged with a crime depending on your state law. |

How does babies convict of a crime? Even if they did, then it must not be intentional. They can't go to jail, how are they going to survive? hire a nanny cop in the prison? |

I think they would get let off. As underage children are not tried as adults. And they are even too young for a childrens detention centre. But that young are not liable or can not be convicted of any crime. There parents can how ever. If the baby does soemthing it would be by accident as it does not understand what it is doing They could techniquelly be taken to a fosterhome. But that would be to protect the child because the parents neglect cause the baby to be able to do what ever crime a baby could do.
But baby's are born in prison when the mother is taken to jail and she is pregnant and the baby can stay with her in jail up to two years old i think. |

Let me ask you a question: What kind of crime could a very young child (Infant) could possibly commit that will get them sent to jail? |

This question needs clarification. If you are referrring to infants and toddlers then the answer would be no; that is to being sent to jail for committing a crime. If you are referring to children, then yes, we in the United states incarcerate more people per capita than any other nation in the world and that does include children. These children vary in age, based on state laws, regulations and housing options. In my state we have children as young as 7 tears old in juvenile detention
( although this is very rare). A few years ago the internet was filled with images of a five year old child being handcuffed behind her back by school police although she was not put in jail.
There are also babies born in jail, and visit mothers in jail, but that is another matter. |
