There is an ex cop who now teachers in the criminal justice department who I know has been to prison for over 5 years before he became a police officer.
Dont you have to be a felon to go to prison, not jail, but prison.
If so, how did he become an officer, because I thought they would not allow that.
He ma have got it expunged or something.
But It seems like that would still prevent him from doing that.
This is in GA.

In California you can not be a peace officer if you have a felony conviction. Some people get their felony convictions reduced to a misdemeanor, and that makes them technically eligible. It is possible that he is being less than truthful about his past employment as a Police Officer. Maybe he was a security guard with delusions of grandeur. You should be able to go online and search for the Georgia penal code. There you can look up what the requirements are for a peace officer. |

Not everyone in jail is a felon. Misdemeanor drug possession could land you in jail.
Felonies are next to impossible to get expunged, but if it did, then he could be a doctor a teacher a police officer, anything.
Could it be possible that he served his time AFTER being a police officer? You said he was retired...
A felon has a tough job getting hired at Mcdonalds, a highly doubt one would be teaching at college level. |

I don't know but it wouldn't surprise me if they let felons be police officers. Just look at the pool of swine that wear the uniform already. Felons might just be an improvement. |
