You can either Google him (some people make the papers when they get busted) or you can pay one of those websites that does criminal background.
The pay site might help for your peace of mind, especially if it turns out the guy's imprisonment was for a child-related crime. |

yes , there are a number of online services that do background checks for small fees. you could find out about marital history, credit history , criminal history etc. a private investigator will give you a VERY detailed report for about 500. The online reports are about 30 to 50 dollars ?
i think it would be good to know what the facts are . then ask the person and see if he / she tells the truth.
